The Basics Part 2 of 4 Completed

Format Test

Table of Contents

The following is a test of the formatting options on mochott. I am publishing this from my phone, using the 2nd of 3 editor types. It does not have a cover photo.

This is H2

And here is some bold text, italic text, underlined text and strike through text.

This is H3

Unordered lists look like:

  • Item 1

  • Item 2

  • Item 3

Ordered lists look like:

  1. Item 1

  2. Item 2

  3. Item 3

And task lists look like:

  • Task 1 (completed)

  • Task 2

  • Task 3

This is H4

Here is a blockquote. mochott also has quote blocks, which we will look at in future articles.

This is a link to the Test Site. Using the link function in the main formatting interface appears as a pop-up with text in a different language…

Here's a horizontal line or divider:

Text can be:

Left aligned

Center aligned

And right aligned

And our final basic formatting option, using only the main formatting interface is a table:

Table Heading 1

Table Heading 2

Adding rows and columns happens with “±/-” in the editor

The table resides in the editor. Curious how it will look on publish.

This is a 2nd row

This is a 2nd column

This is an image. It allows you to add a caption, ALT text and change the size of the image, which we will experiment with in future tests.

A screenshot of the format pop-up when you highlight text.

Highlighting text pops up a mini-format window. Again, my pet peeve about translation comes into play as three of the drop down options (text, quotes and a code block) are in a different language. You can bold, italic, underline, strike through, link and change alignment from it.

Another pet peeve and this is probably only an issue because I'm using my phone is the constant side scroll issue. As I go up and down to go back to the formatting interface or to publish this article, my screen keeps scrolling all around. I have this ridiculous green line across the top of my article that is just a long string of:

At the top of my editor is a long string of "...SavedUnsavedSaving..."

In the next test, we'll look at some of the more advanced blocks available on mochott. These are accessible from a “+” visible in the writing interface in the 2nd editor type.
