Creating Minisites

This is an unofficial English translation, with a few adjustments to better serve English-speaking readers.
What is a minisite
We created the Mochott minisite feature to help you group and publish your articles by specific topics. You can easily use this to curate your very own "Travel Journal", "Technology Blog", or "Recipe Collection", or anything under the sun (provided it is within our Terms of Use).
If you do not assign your articles to a minisite, your articles will be published directly under your main author profile (mochott.site/your-handle/). This means different topics will be listed together in one site or page, which might confuse some of your readers who are looking for specific content.
By creating a minisite and assigning your articles to it, your readers can view your work neatly organized per topic or blog (via mochott.site/minisite-slug/ or your own custom domain like minisite.your-domain.xyz). We designed this to give you a much cleaner, more professional, and well-organized content presentation.
Creating your minisites
Here is a short guide to setting up your own minisite. Please follow the steps below:

- Kindly select "Minisites" from your dashboard page.
- Please click the "Create Minisite" button to open the setup page.
- Carefully configure the necessary information.
Basic information
Kindly provide the following basic information for your new minisite.

- Site Name: please enter the official title of your minisite (for example: "Travel Blog" or "Cooking Recipes").
- URL Type: kindly choose how you would like your readers to access your minisite (we have provided the details under the URL Settings section below).
- Description: please provide a brief overview or summary of your minisite.
- Icon: an icon that represents your minisite's topic or identity. (soon)
URL settings

- (Standard) Slug: This will form as part of your minisite's URL (
mochott.site/your-handle/s/minisite-slug). Please ensure it is unique under your own handle's namespace. - (Global) Slug: You may also choose to secure a shorter, direct link (
mochott.site/minitise-slug). Please note that this keyword must be unique across the entire Mochott system.

Design
We are glad to share that customizing your minisite to reflect your personal style and identity is possible in Mochott.

- Design Type: please select your preferred layout from these three: Blog, Documentation, or Portfolio formats.
- Color Settings: you also can adjust the main color, background color, and accent color of your new minisite to match your brand identity.
Setting a custom domain
We invite you to use your own domain name for your minisites at no extra cost. You can have reviews.your-domain.xyz, blog.your-domain.pink, or your-domain.me.

By configuring this feature, your minisite will function as an independent website or blog separate from the main Mochott domain name (mochott.site). We highly recommend this setup because it is a good signal for search engine ranking results. Aside from this, it gives your blog a much more professional look that truly reflects your own personal branding.
Adding articles to your minisites
There are two easy ways to add your articles to your new minisite.
Assigning a minisite to your draft
While you are working on your draft, you can already choose and assign the correct minisite for your article before hitting the publish button. Our system will immediately sort and display your article under that specific minisite once you publish it.
Moving an article after publishing
Please do not worry if your article is already published, as you can still move it to a minisite anytime. You simply need to edit your existing article and update its minisite settings to move it to a minisite.
Next step
If you happen to find an article you enjoy, we highly encourage you to follow them.
